I am desperate to learn about the social life of aristocrats in the 1920's era precisely and particularly for London but I can't find anything! I can find out about every other period except this one. I'm desperate because it's for a project I'm doing. I'd also love to know about thier clothes, (men and women), the social etiquette, travel, cars - everything! Can anybody direct me to a book or something. I'd be most grateful if someone could also give me the same information about life in Jamaica.

The novel 'Lucia In London' by E F Benson was about a social climber (Lucia) in London in the 1920's. Whilst not an aristocrat she certainly moved in high society and went to balls etc given by members of the aristocracy. It might be worth a read as it gives a good insight into life in those times. Also the Jeeves and Wooster books by P G Wodehouse are set in the 1920's and 30's and are about the life of the upper class.
try Bukes peerage
Try reading any book by the Nancy Mitford that shows the upperclass- or their biographys like 'Hons and Rebels' - by Jessica Mitford which is very good indeed. Fascinating family!

Thanks everyone!

I wonder why it is so hard to get primary sources from that period. I'm not even sure if the British library can help.
