Who has previously lived in my house?

How do I find out who has previously lived in my house without paying someone and/or without having to pay a website to do it? Any suggestions?

If you own or are buying your house most of the history of the house such as previous owners will be inluded in the deeds so inform the building society, solicitor or who ever is storing the deeds that you wish to see them & away you go. If it 's a rented property I dont really know what you'd do apart from asking the owners if they could help

You could check at your local library; they should have the past census registers.

delboy3 you can't view census records after 1901 so they won't be any help if your house was built between 1902 and 2007!
