Not a question but may interest some.
Every year English Heritage run an event called Festival of History (used to be called History in Action).
If you have ANY interest in history you should go.
This year it is on 11th and 12th of August.
It runs for 2 days, but to be honest it could run for 5 days and you still would not see it all.
Thousands, yes thousands, of people in history re-enactment groups dress up in costume of their particular period and live, work and fight as people did in history.
You can see a recreation of an english civil war battle, then a world war 1 battle, then the Romans, then a world war 2 battle, then knights on horseback.
They of often have tanks, aeroplanes, chariots, canons, people on horseback and much more.
World war 1 groups even dig trenches and the English and Germans spend all weekend living in the trenches taking pot shots at each other.
People stroll round in costome and one minute you see Queen Victoria, then Julius Ceaser, then Cromwell.
Great for kids as well, brings history to life.
