Citation for DFM
I have been trying to trace my family history for some time. My mums uncle was killed in WW2, and the family always assumed that he obtained his DFM for the action in which he died, but I have found thta this is not the case He was a F/O when he died and the DFM was only for ranks. So I would like to find the citation to find out how he got his DFM.
His name is Ronald Kenneth Stratford and he was with 640 squadron, He was killed in action 30th August 1944 over Denmark

He is mentioned twice here in the London Gazette
Although it does not show a citation, it may help you to find the actual date when searching his records.
