free private diary.

Does anyone know how i can keep a private online diary. preferably free. I would like to start keeping a journal, i use hotmail for dates/reminders etc. but I would like something where I could keep my thoughts etc private. all i have been able to find is childrens/teenagers sites and free trials where you then have to go on to pay. any advice would be helpful- thanks

I would be wary about any site that offered such a service for no cost. I use gmail to keep private notes. Works for me.

However, livejournal is well respected and you can keep it private:
