Henry Ford as far as i can remember
yes, i knew thar when i was 8!!! my mum used to say it when we asked for things, it was referring to the Model T.

The actual quote from an interview printed in The Chicago Tribune, May 25th, 1916 is...

"History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present and the only history that is worth a tinker's dam is the history we made today."
It's commonly held that Ford came out with the 'any colour you like' quote, but there's no actual evidence that he actually ever said it!
He may have written that he said it, but since for the first year of production, 1909, the Model T Ford came in grey, red or Brewster's green (apparently!) only, it seems highly unlikely.

It is still possible for him to have said it at the time but for it not to have been implemented.
...after all George W. Bush proclaimed an end to combat operations in Iraq on May 1st, 2003. He said it, but it did not come to pass!
Check out Royce on the death of Rolls though I may be wrong.
I know they changed the badged colour to black on the death of Ford.
