Which two ancient cities were joined to form what we now know as London? I know about Londinium, but I'm finding conflicting accounts of other settlements - the Anglo-Saxon Ludenwic for example, which was in a slightly different area from the Roman settlement, but is that what they're looking for? Does anyone have any bright ideas please?

guyfawkes - unfortunately the quiz has to be in by the end of this week, we only found out about it at the a.g.m. last Wednesday. We're in New Radnor (almost 4 years since we moved here) and when we go to Hay we go over the top and drop down from the Painscastle road through Clyro - which is not as small as it used to be, like so many villages nowadays, but still an attractive place.

Hi! again Bogtrotter.
Thank you for your prompt answer to my request.
How I envy you living where you do. My g.g.grandfather came from Old Radnor I have visited that and New Radnor many times
.My holidays were spent with my Grandmother who lived at The Old Post Office, Clyro (24 The Village) so I know that area very well and regret the alterations which have been
made to what was once a quiet, friendly village where everyone knew each other. Her house, incidentally, was the Post Office when Francis Kilvert lived in the village.
Thanks again
