Hauntings & Visitations

I remember reading a book some years ago about Hauntings & Visitations,sadly I cannot rember what its title was or even the name of the author, it's a bit of a shot in the dark ,but one incident reported was of a haunting somewhere around the London area where a man moved into a house only to find it was haunted by a man from the past who swore that he was being haunted by the man who had moved into the house recently( a sort of reciprocal haunting). A very strange tale indeed,but can anyone help,it's driving me up the wall trying to recall the title etc.
