Hi all,
This may sound like a weird post, and Im not sure if posting this is a clever idea... but I'll do it anyway.
I have just come back from a holiday to New York, and I ended up doing a world trade center tour with my parents (I'm 14 years old). The tour guides (I guess you could call them that) were a very friendly and kind husband and wife directly affected by 9/11, in fact they were parents of a firefighter who died that day. There son was only 23 years old, being one of the youngest firefighters to die.
Anyway, they told our group about the world trade center, 9/11, and also their son. It was a very moving experience and although nobody was in a flood of tears, I could see by glancing around everyone was holding it back (I was too). They went on to say how they had recieved things sent to them through the post from strangers, such as letters and artwork from people, and they said it really helped them and that they kept everything they got sent.
I was thinking of sending them something through the post, like something artistic maybe, but I dont know if it is such a great idea. I dont have any ideas yet anyway.
What do you think? And does anyone have any ideas?

People from all over the world sent in their thoughts and condolences. I remember reading some of the posts, which really moved me, but I think the site must've eventually closed as when i searched for it later, I couldn't find it. If you were touched by your visit, & know an address to write to - go ahead hun. Time doesn't make the experience much less painful for those who lost loved ones. x

Hi Dris!
Hi Laguna - I think if you write them something as heartfelt as your post is then that would be just right. Maybe you could go to your local fire station and have a photo taken with a fire engine and send that to them. They are obviously very proud of their son being a fire fighter and there is a strong sense of 'brotherhood' amongst fire fighters so maybe they would apperciate that.
