I' m teaching a Y11 girl at home and her course covers the Russian Revolution - the Fall of the Tsar etc. She seems fascinated by Rasputin - I have a copy of Nicholas and Alexandra the film which I have l let her borrow - but would appreciate any other sources where I could find information about this man. it's quite difficult sometimes making sure that she has all the opportunities her class-mates have. I have googled - but a tried and tested site/film/book would be useful.
Thanks

You have probably already checked on wikipedia, but here is a link anyway.

There was a BBC Timewatch documentary called 'Who Killed Rasputin?' screened about 4 years ago which focussed on him being killed by a British secret agent, but the doc itself went into his background, entrance and influence into the court of the Tsar and final downfall.

I'm not sure if you can get hold of it, but it might be worth a look.
Boney M did an excellent reprise of Rasputin's life.
Apparently Rasputin was Russia's greatest love machine! ;-)
Quite, they even claimed that....

Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear

and....

In all affairs of state he was the man to please
But he was real great when he had a girl to squeeze

and...

They didn't quit, they wanted his head
Ra Ra Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine
And so they shot him till he was dead

It just goes to show that they don't write songs like what they used to!
