A woman was charged with being drunk in the toilet of a pub doing a "Bolton and Park" style dressed in men's clothing.

Any ideas? She was the Miller's wife, but could be earning a little extra on the side I suppose!

What was she doing in a "Bolton & Park" style? Whatever it was, she was arrested for it - well that and resisting arrest!

No idea what Bolton and Park style means but reading the article she was possible doing something with drugs

This was in the 1870's so I am presuming it was either a drunken dance, going to the toilet as a woman in the men's toilet or something sexual!

Whether she often went around dressed as a man or did it as a disguise, I am not sure. someone told me that there were only men's toilets in many pubs, so that could have something to do with it.

Boulton and Park were two men arrested dressed as women and subsequently put on trial. The trial was a sensation and hence the use of their names subsequently.

If you google their names you will get a lot of info.
