It was in the mining town of Rough and Ready, which is now in Nevada County, California. It seceded on April 7, 1850 after a mining tax was imposed by the federal government. The Republic lasted for 3 months -- apparently the citizens started feeling left out when the Fourth of July celebrations started in other nearby towns!
since the mining taxes were so high, most of your miners decided to find a different way to make a living, most made their new living at playing poker.

Seems to me , that you all were on here looking for the answers. Yet , you disgrace anyone else who does.
my question is if everyone here is trying to win the outwit the west game, why in gods earth would they be given you the right answers. I came across three different answers which they posted a answer for but since i dont trust anyone i did research and came across that all answers where all wrong. For my benefit keep writing down the answers given.
