I'm going to vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum in one hour. I know that the UK government has decided that you, their citizens, will not get to vote on this. Therefore, I will vote for you.

I haven't made up my mind on the treaty, so I'm giving you the chance your govt didn't - convince me to vote yes or no. Since all EU states will ratify, but it needs a unanimous vote, and we in Ireland are the only ones who get the vote, it will carry/fail based on the result here. It will also therefore become law in the UK if carried here.

So - yes or no? Given this will not affect our/your membership of the EU, I don't want a list of pro or anti EU rants - stick to the treaty.

I promise to vote with the majority - but only those who stick to pro or anti-treaty arguments will count.

8pm cut off - thanks.

What time does voting stop at cus i still havta get in to vote?
Think it's 10 pm JK.

Wizard - at least you have a CHOICE, whereas we don't. The "yes" men are desperately trying to convince everyone that it'll be a good thing to vote for it, but personally, I don't think Europe'll function any better than it is doing at the moment. New rights, and laws'll be brought in. if the ones we have are anything to go by - the current situation'll only get worse. You do as you feel's necessary, but given the choice, I'd give a resounding 'no'.

Had a discussion in work today - I think it reflects the mood of the country as polls bear it out. 7 People - 2 yes, 3 no, 2 don't know.
In the Nice Treaty our right to a commissioner permanently was revoked in favour of 18 commisioners for 27 countries.
Nothing is stopping Germany, France and Italy taking 6 each from next year, and saying bug ger britain. Lisbon is the only guarantee that we will have one commissioner for 10 of 15 years and that all other countries will have the same. Vote yes for me please

That's 1-1 guys... 20 mins left.

Let's make it easier - yes or no, never mind reasons.
Ireland has done more than any other country from handouts given by the EU so you can hardly kick them in the teeth.

Just checking the final tally.

Taking sp1214 as a yes then, so that's the vote.

Thanks all.
No, No, a thousand times No.
vote NO, the future of Yerp is in your hands, please paddies save us!
Pointless anyway because even if they vote NO, they'll have as many referendums as it takes to brow beat them into a yes
