What was a Mungo Agent?

I was looking through a census count, 1881, of an ancestor of mine who was employed as Mungo Agent.
Can anyone tell me what exactly this was?

"Mungo" is the waste produced in a woollen mill from hard spun or felted cloth, or from tearing up old clothes, used in making cheap cloth.

Was this ancester living in a mill town?

Are you sure that is what it says, is there no chance it could have been mistranscribed?

I'm sure Tichfield's answer is much more probable, but the word, 'mungo' had several meanings during the 18th and 19th centuries, one of which was 'black slave'. Granted, the Abolition Act was passed in 1833, but it's possible, I suppose, that - even at the census 47 years later - someone might still have been listed as a person who had been involved as an agent in that trade. Just a thought.

Tichfield's answer is credible because my ancestor's employement in an earlier census was Woollen Cloth Manufacturer.
