What was a Mungo Agent?
I was looking through a census count, 1881, of an ancestor of mine who was employed as Mungo Agent.
Can anyone tell me what exactly this was?
Many thanks in advance.

Granted, the Abolition Act was passed in 1833, but it's possible, I suppose, that - even at the census 47 years later - someone might still have been listed as a person who had been involved as an agent in that trade. Just a thought.
