If you put "women in ancient Egypt" (with the quotation marks) into the Google search engine, you will be directed to several very informative websites. Bear in mind, incidentally, that what we term the ancient Egyptian civilisation lasted for over 3,000 years, and presumably the status of women did not stay the same throughout that period.
