Army Regiment
I have a photo of my Dad in uniform during WW1, I know he served with the Hampshire Regiment but how can I find out whether he was in ie Rifle Brigade, Royal Engineers etc. I was hoping by looking at image on medal rolls index it might give me some info but unfortunately it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated.

Some regimaents make a chrge for this kind of research but this is tiny compared to what it would cost you n time and expertise to do it yourself.
The army records centre also offers the same service:

Thank you Lonnie, I only wish you could see the photo. It is a smart dress uniform but unfortunately it is not quite clear enough to name anything. Their seems to be a badge on the front of the belt but even that is not clear. It has wide shoulder pads of white with adjoining strips and certainly something on the collar but I'm afraid I cannot say what it is. Thank you for your trouble.
Its no problem, a pleasure, but as a last resort, just going on the Hampshire Rgt, try some of the links on this site, always asuming you haven't been there already.and good luck.
