I have bleached strips of my hair for some time now and am thinking of going the whole hog and bleaching all my hair (this is so I can get a better colour result for bright pinks, reds, blues, purples etc).

Have any of you done this yourself and how easy/hard is it? Also, how do you find it to bleach the roots?

you might be better going to the hairdressers if you want to go the whole hog and have a full head bleach, as it's so easy to do terrible damage to your hair.
I go to the hairdressers to have mine bleached and then dye it myself with water based dye (usually Manic Panic, Crazy Colour or Fudge Paintbox)

is it expensive to have done at the hairdresser? how often do you go back to have the roots done?
A full tone is cheaper than foils. Depending on your natural color contrast determines when you will have to redo the roots...usually about every 6-8 weeks. Cost 70 would be 10pw approx.
