yes, the Yalta betrayal is well known to all the peoples of Eastern Europe because it led to Communist freedom for fifty years before the whole thing fell apart.

The agreement was to put back the frontiers to 1939 and this led to wholesale returning of peoples who were then massacred. Cossacks and so on.

Not many people in England know this, unless your parents were DPs, in which case  you know it good.

A disgraceful event - one of many - occurred at klagenfurt in 1945 which was the subject of a libel trial. The returns and massacres were not disputed but who sent them back was disputed and Count Tolstoy was ordered to pay Lord Aldinton 1.5 m pounds in damages.
