Do you ever regret not learning to do something properly?

Have you ever thought that "what if i" learned to ski, drive a car,learn to swim, pilot a plane, fix a car, ride a horse ( which is sore point with me at the moment, as i have this morning been on a 3 hour trek with the horse from hell!!!! ) etc etc
so mine is how to ride a blooming horse properly, without too much damage!!!

What's yours?
and Any regrets? or never too late!!!??

Yes after many near misses and several crashes i really wished i had learnt to fly a passenger jet properly.....and soberly.

On a serious note,theres too many things to mention,but like you said its never too late!

scared of horses,got attacked by a shetland pony when i was nine,took a shortcut through the field and it was running after me and my carrier bag

Yep - horses 'eh? i will conquer them as 19 of my group went up to trek this morning and they gave me a monster of a size horse called "pedro"(!) ( well, we are on their island! )
Not back to UK until thursday next week so will go out yet again to "improve" - the kids on our group were rolling up at what my horse was doing to me, but a few of my friends had similar stubborn ones, so don't feel too bad.
Going for a last swim to ease my pains a bit, before getting ready for tonight,when hopefully my aches will have gone away!!!

The thing to remember about horses is, mentally they are naughty children, and they will start by seeing what they can get away with. If they sense you are unsure, they will play you up, so you have to stamp your authority from the first few minutes on board.

When your horse refuses to walk - a good start - give him a firm kick with both heels and shake your reins, and say "Walk!" in a firm, but not loud voice.

When he starts tossing his head, or looking meaningfully across massive fields, pull his head firmly, but not sharply, around to the direction yo want, and kick him to walk.

After a few minutes of this, he will realise that you are the boss, and behave. Failure to establish superiority can lead to all sorts of anti-socail behaviour - bolting, throwing, rolling, so make sure you get in front first.

Aren't i being generous with the stars?

Yeah - lovely here 19c and sunny - in a really large group of friends - i am now chilling on a sun lounger watching them play volleyball in the pool and seeing some of the kids playing tennis on the courts in these lovely grounds - was here in October playing a couple of end of season gigs - now played two last weekend and have two more here this weekend - one in the south in palma and one here in puerto de alcudia on saturday night.
