The 40th anniversary of the first moon landing is only two weeks away. Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon with Neil Armstrong. Now, my question is this: Is Buzz Aldrin the granddad of Buzz Lightyear?
a bandwagon most sane people let roll by, without the scientific discoveries of those missions we would not have the advanced technology available to us today in most homes and businesses.
" without the scientific discoveries of those missions we would not have the advanced technology available to us today in most homes and businesses" well im puzzled now dot.
We were talking about the moon landing of 1969 i believe.
so what " scientific discoveries " from that mission or " advanced technology " would you be referring to?
As far as im aware an average laptop is far in advance of anything on the apollo spacecraft , and unless they discovered some advanced technology there then i fail to see how , if at all , the moon landing helped mankind ?
of course the computer they specifically invented to be carried on space missions was the size of an entire room as it would have been pointless trying to develop anything smaller just to blast into oblivion
Forty years on, Tim Stevenson, chief engineer at Leicester University's Space Research Centre, says the real achievement of Apollo was less tangible than the programme's whizz-bang technology: fuel cells, inertial guidance systems, freeze-dried food, fire retardants and cordless power tools.
welll thank god they spent millions of dollars eh?
mind you dont you think without the flights they couldve developed all that cheaper and faster too??
Everybody has gratefully admitted that you are right legolard, now you can take a break in the gay club in preparation for your night shift on here. Please remember to use a condom.
1. Why are NASA planning to send a robot to the Moon in 2020, if they had the technology to send humans there 51 years earlier?
2. Why do the Japanese think that they will not be able to put a man on the Moon until 2030? Is Japanese technology really 61 years behing the Americans.
