Who invented the current calendar that we use today and who were the months named after?

we call it the gregorian calendar, after pope gregory.

i know to some of the months-

jan--- from janus

march--- from mars

july--- from julius ceasar

august--- from augustus

september--- was the seventh month

october--- was the eighth

november--- was the ninth

december--- was the tenth month

im hope someone can fill in my blanks

february - from februa, meaning expiatory offering, as the festival of expiation and purification was on 15th of this month

may - from godess maia

june - from godess juno

only april left now...
