Just been to the supermarket and used the self-service checkout as usual. When it came to paying for the goods I used some coins for the odd pennies in the bill and then reached for my wallet for the notes required.
But the wallet wasn't in the pocket where I always carry it - double check all my pockets and it's in not in any of them (shock horror)! But I never forget my wallet! I never lose anything that I take out with me!! My world is falling apart!!!
The woman overseeing the checkouts is nearby and I sheepishly tell her that I seem to have forgotten my wallet and don't have the money to pay for my shopping. Whilst she's taking the action to cancel my purchases I suddenly realise that my wallet was under my arm all the time - I'd put it there when I was dealing with the coins and completely forgotten that I'd done that. Mumble an apology for being an idiot and leave quickly (with shopping); expect the cctv of the incident to be shown in a video clips tv show sometime soon.
Gone to the supermarket to do my weekly shop, had taken my purse out already to give the cashier my loyalty card and instead of putting my purse back in my bag left it out where it got buried beneath a load of carrier bags causing a mini panic!!!!
Went to pay for shopping with Debit card. Would not accept it and I knew there was no money problem.Rang the bank was told everything was down for 2 hours. You would have thought with all this high tec that a sign would have come up instead of causing embarresment at the checkouts.
