a place where skulls are stacked
evening all. in the deep recesses of my imperfect memory i rember hearing abot some sort of tomb thing where t. (i think it is somewhere in london), there are skulls of the many plague victims stacked atop one another. hundreds and hundreds.. there is a special name for this sort of " burial"...anyone able to help with what, where etc? thanks

I don't think there is a name for an exclusive "skulls only" burial place.
Any place where bones(inc skulls) are buried,is called an Ossuary,

There IS a plague Ossuary in Hythe,Nr Fokkestone,Kent.Which I have seen,and didn't realise was from the plague.

ahh jumbuck. tha nks to your keen vocab i looked up the word and yo are right. it has jogged my memory ...well cortesy of a google search....that the tomb below the church iwas thinking of is actually in hythe, kent....and it is skulls of saxons not plague victims....but it was the place i was thinking of after all. thanks a million
