My Grandfather served on the Western Front throughout WW1 with the 59th Highland Division. He never spoke about much other than to say how horrible the whole thing was. He was awarded some decorations. How can I get more info on his time out there and what his decorations were for?

go to www.documentsonline.nationalarchives.gov.uk where for a (small) fee you can get medals records for people who served in WW1

A Google search on "Highland Division" led to http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Highland+Division%22&hl=en&lr=&start=0&sa=N

Are you sure about it being the 59th Division?  The site gives references for histories of the 51st (Highland) Division.  They will tell you what the Division was doing at what time, but it won't tell you about anyone by name.  Nor will it tell you about the horrors of life for the troops.
