Cooker extractor hoods
2 Answers
Could anybody advise me on cooker extractor hoods. I would like one which is no more than 50cms wide, 30cms deep and about 15cms high. This is to fit above a belling electric cooker. I would like it white to match the gas boiler next to it. It could be fitted to an outside wall so that fumes can be emitted. Also no more than about £100 (new) as I do not want to spend too much. Not too bothered about the make. Any ideas please?

Try B and Q. They do budget extractor units (two colours available...white or brown) for about £75. You will need to hire a core drill to put a six inch diameter hole in your wall for the vent kit (this is the bit where the hood sends your cooking fumes and steam through to get to the outside). Will cost you about £40 for the core drill hire plus £20-£25 for the vent kit (you can get vent kit at B and Q). Putting the hole in the wall is a messy and hard job though. If you're not a competent DIY'er don't bother doing it yourself.
