Army chiefs join the battle.

It would seem that even the Army chiefs are getting scared of the BNP appearing on Question Time, perhaps they should consider vetting it's soldiers to expose those who support the BNP?
If they found out who did, would they also ask for them to be kicked out of the Armed Forces?
Regarding whether or not they should utilise WW2 posters in their campaigns, I can find no wrong in it since they highlight their "Battle for Britain" campaign.
Nothing illegal or racist about that, only if one is paranoid in anyway.

As I recall the battle of Britain was fought AGAINST racist fascists not for them!
Wasn't a Polish spitfire on their posters too!

Are you that blind?
Can you not see why no one wants to have anything to do with them? I dont care if the BNP are legal or not.
and by christ you seem determine to fight for their rights without openly supportting them. The point is the army don't want anything to do with them because they are morally repugnant! Like the thugs that were on that panorama show the Army wants to distance itself from anything to do with the BNP because they stand for something a hell of a lot more important than anything the BNP could ever hope to stand for. This isnt a legal argument it's a moral argument. I completely commend the army for being disgusted at the BNP. I know I am.

Blimey...is there ANYONE who doesn't find the BNP disgusting???
Now the army wants to disassociate itself from them.
What next?

I think we've all been brainwashed. Of course we want a nation where half the population are made up of ethnic races. Of course we would rather see our council housing stock being taken up by immigrants and the schools overflowing so that there is less room for others. Of course we have millions out of work to satisfy those coming from abroad. But give a party a name and we do it down and instead in the final argument keep supporting those established parties that got us into this mess.
/////"To be fair, he does openly support them."//////
Yes in some way you are correct Quinlad.
What I have said many times in the past, I take no notice of anyone who tells me I should hate anyone, especially when I can find no reason to do so.
If someone said to you, "you should have nothing to do with that guy because etc etxc etc"...
Would you automatically hate that person?
Until I see for myself that they have openly harmed a black person or an Asian specifically for being such, and all in the name of the BNP, then yes I will accept that they are persons to hate.
Many things they are accused of are just stories, past from one to another without any hard facts to substantiate the claims.
It is amazing that the BNP haven't yet killed anyone or blown anything up, and yet we are told we should fear them, even more than others it seems.
I ask you in our multiracial country, where each different race has someone to support their cause, laws are introduced to protect them and certain laws and measures are altered for their benefit, so as to fit in with their particular religion or culture, why is it that no one is there to fight the rights of the indigenous population?
Why is it we feel we are foreigners in our own land?
Perhaps this is the reason that people are shying away from the 3 main parties, and looking for answers from the minority parties.

Who does? Who's this 'we'? Who are you speaking on behalf?
I suspect it's a disaffected minority, NOT the majority. If it were the majority, then I would expect the BNP to poll similar figures to one of the main parties in the forthcoming General Elections.
If they do not, then surely you cannot continue to refer to them as the mythical 'silent majority'?

Please list me the national parties which are only open to blacks / Asians.
I don't care about societies of black policemen etc...I'm talking about law-makers who are exclusively black and/or Asian. Who are you referring to?
The Westminister lobby system operates in exactly the way you suggest y'know. Various factions, supporting implicity 'indigenous' concerns are there behind the scenes influencing laws every day that Parliament sits.
Who are you referring to when you say "Why do we feel like foreigners on our own streets", are you talking about white Britons, or all Britons?

AOG,
I applaud your independence of thought. Perhaps you should apply that to other people.
You assume people only hate the BN because they're told to. That ignores the fact that the BNP are by their very nature a divisive, discriminatory, exclusive party, that openly condones some of the greates atrocties from the last century. And people dislike that.
You're assuming that, if they only thought about it, everyone else would go along with the simple-minded notion that we should keep ourselves racially pure and distinguish between people who are and aren't 'ethnicall'y British. It might surprise you but people don't think about this.
They don't share your rabid opposition to change or your salivating fixation for 1950s England. They're believe in things like tolerance, freedom of expression and the freedom to live your life according to different cultural norms and with different tastes.
And that's not because the BBC or The Guardian tells them to. It's because, deep down, they're not tw*ts - they're good natured people, not motivated by hatred, mistrust, insecurity, paranoia or petty-mindedness. And as much as you detest modern Britain, there are a lot of people like that.

Well said, Quinlad.
The BNP is to change its constitution. Their leader told the BBC that his party is not racist. It did distinguish those people who are 'civically British' from the rest of us because they were 'different' from the rest. It would be interesting to know what view he takes of such people, or their children, being in the army to fight for Britain. Presumably they are not fighting fo his Britain ! Only a BNP member or supporter would truly be doing that. (What a small army we'd have )

Gromit
///"The fact that you see nothing wrong in the BNP exploiting those who made they ultimate sacrifice for this country, just about sums you up AOG2////.
Don't you dare accuse me of exploiting those that made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. it is such people as you Gromit that lets this country down. I don't suppose for one minute you have donned an uniform for your country or indeed committed any act whatsoever to support our troops.
Regarding the BNP exploiting those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our troops, do you ever see them on the streets shouting insults to them on their way back from the war zones? The BNP support the troops.
It is left to the BNP to criticise the establishment Generals, with their Sirs attached to their names and the chest full of medals? Who are they to condemn the BNP when they don't condemn the MPs also for pocketing thousands, while the troops have not the right equipment.
Now having said all this please explain how the BNP are exploiting those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country?
If you mean those that have fallen in past wars, do you seriously think that these souls would be happy to see how their country has changed? In fact I think they would be queuing up to join the BNP.

The reason we were fighting the Nazis rather than colluding with them like the Spanish and Italians is because their fascists views were unBritish. We did not want to be like them, and when we needed to defend ourselves, that was worth fighting for. The men who died in the Battle of Britain (see the BNP hijacked poster above) would be appalled that people of the same views are exploiting their images in order to get votes.

Amazing...are you honestly trying to say that all British ex-servicemen from the first and second World Wars would naturally vote BNP?
Frankly, I find it surprising that you would sully the names of these fine men by calling them racists.
Shame on you.

By the way - just watching the news on the plasmas at the gym at lunchtime. Winston Churchill's family have registered their disgust at "the BNP appropriating his image as he spent his life fighting fascism".
Fancy that - Winston Churchill's family coming out against the BNP. I thought it was only the 'Far Left' who were against the policies of the BNP.
To me, it's beginning to look like a pretty broad church of critics.

It's quite a legitimate play on words "The Battle for Britain"
One has got to be pretty narrow minded to find anything offensive about that, even to past or present surviving personnel.
All political parties do similar to attain votes.
Apparently the Spitfire is in Polish Airforce markings, and that the Poles did sterling work during the second world war, but wasn't the whole reason for Britain going to war, because the Nazis invaded Poland?
Most likely Nick Griffin's Grandfather fought along side Poles, who knows?
Don't even you think Britain is in Threat in one way or other, it is obvious the BNP think so. and that the slogan is a vote catcher, or is it really that, that you are afraid of?
