fascism lives on in Italy

Knoxy update ...
The Italian authorities are taking action against Knoxy's parents because they said Amanda had been badly treated.
Who is running Italy? Is Mussolini still there?
Imagine if the UK authorities took action against everyone who was rude about them.
There'd be nobody left on the streets.
So, Italy proves to be the last remaining fascist dictatorship in the EU ...
You dare to speak out against the Authorities? We will take action against you!
We should cut Italy off at the Dolomites, and let the whole stupid country float off to the South Pole.
Except the bits where I go skiing, obviously.
And the bit where my B/F's parents have a house.
But all the rest of it.
Oh, and maybe Venice. That's quite nice.
But then, Venice is not attached to the mainland, so it would probably stay where it was.
Oh, and the bit where they grow Pinot Grigio ... Veneto, or something. That had better stay.
So, just bits of Italy to be chopped of and set adrift.
Especially Perugia.

The Italian authorities have demonstrated that they have no interest in establishing the truth
(by admitting to inventing fake evidence)
... and every interest in intimidating anyone who criticises them (see this thread).
They want to convict Amanda.
They don't care if she is the real killer.
Meredith's killer may be sitting at home in front of his lappy, laughing at the Meredith's family.
The Police don't care about that.
So if you were on that Jury, even if you were totally convinced the Amanda and Raffael were innocent ...
... would you DARE to humiliate the Italian authorities by showing that they were wrong?
Amanda might be convicted, even if she is completely innocent !

I was there on the night of the murder.
Oh, poop ... now I've been arrested too.
Actually, I'm surprised the Italian Police haven't arrested me just for daring to suggest that Amanda is innocent.
Panic ...
I know she is innocent because ...
(1) the "evidence" is complete nonsense
(2) the Press have been fed stories of her involvement, but only ever publish them separately from any analysis of the facts adduced at Trial (because the two are not consistent with each other)
(3) if the Italian Police thought that they had a good case against Amanda and Raffael, they would not have needed to start faking evidence.
nb. The reason that my support tends to focus on Amanda, rather than Raffael, is that Raffael's Italian family are very, very wealthy. Raffael has massive financial resources available to fund his defence.
Amanda's family have nothing, except the goodwill of those of us who want to see justice prevail.
