Since most legends have him ferried to Avalon, it is highly unlikely to have mortally (or fatally wounded). Of course Avalon is meant to be a representation of the afterlife you could argue that he was mortally wounded at Camlann. But I am right in thinking he was still 'alive' when he was ferried?
