George Haywood
3 Answers
I am wanting to find documents on a George Haywood who was in the British Army and deployed to India during WWI. We think he was born in Bradford but not sure what year. We are guessing he was born around 1895 +/- a couple of years. We know that he married an Indian lady and they moved back to England but again not sure what year. I have full membership with ancestry.co.uk but maybe i am searching in the wrong documents.
He had sisters called Edith and Grace although Grace may not have been the name she was born with.
Any help will be much appreciated as we have come to a bit of a stop and cant get any further. Thanks

Also a birth for an Edith Annie Heywood in Bradford in Sep Q 1886. Can't find a Grace.
There is a George Heywood of that age in the 1901 Census, in Morley. He has a different surname to head of the household, so perhaps his mother remarried. If so, Grace may have been his half-sister. Edith wasn't with them, but she may already have been pushed out into the wide world. Lots were!
