yes, there was a point: they wanted to reconquer the Holy Land (where Jesus lived) from the Muslims.

i know that but they got a bit greedy because of the fact that they tried their luck with spain aswell.
If this is the question that your teacher set, it is no wonder history teaching is on the decline.
On the face of it the First Crusade was intended to recapture Jerusalem and allow Christian pilgrims free access to the holy sites, which had been stopped by the Turks. Religious belief was very strong and many people who took part were convinced that they were right in the eyes of God.

However it was also in equal measure a race to grab land on the part of certain kings and aristocrats, and we can see this by the way the successful crusaders set themselves up in their 'kingdom of Jerusalem'.
I don't believe the crusades enetered Spain.
Are you confusing this with the Moorish (Arab) occupation of Spain?
Spain??? The Moors (Muslims) captured Spain; the Christians reconquered it centuries later but it's not usually thought of as a crusade.

jno, thats pretty much what i was told. but england tried taking it from moors, pagans and slavs
I'm afraid this is beyond our control. You have plainly been taught / told a load of billhooks OR you are having us on. You can research on www and find all the info you need but you seem at present to be just feeding in more wildy daft questions every time you get an answer.
Question Author
sorry. maybe i just have a **** teacher or something.
What level are you studying at, narutoguy? GCSE? A level? Degree?
You have posted 3 questions so far on the same subject.
Why not just enter ''Crusades'' into Google and look through some of the 1000s of references that come up. Form your own opinions and put them down in an essay.
That is what you you should be doing rather than just copying down what we say on here. The link I gave has 900 entries on all aspects of the Crusades from Christian and Muslim points of view. Spend an hour or 2 actually doing the work you are supposed to be doing yourself. You will learn something in the process which you are not going to do by just copying what we say.

you guys aren't helping much. you never posted a link and i don't care if i should be studying for an hour or two, i did that.
Naruto, you have several links posted in your numerous questions. Stop whingeing and do your homework.
That's it then,! You are being rude!

Here is the link again in case you missed it on your first question.
I'm not going to help with this one. i've seen links provided by other users on your other questions.
If you aren't prepared to read up on the topic, analyse it , draw conclusions and address the questions raised then maybe History is not the topic for you.
Question Author
if i had a choice, i'd drop it. anyway, thanks for the links for who ever posted them
