was the crusades a greedy thing for the christians to do? or was there point?

On the face of it the First Crusade was intended to recapture Jerusalem and allow Christian pilgrims free access to the holy sites, which had been stopped by the Turks. Religious belief was very strong and many people who took part were convinced that they were right in the eyes of God.
However it was also in equal measure a race to grab land on the part of certain kings and aristocrats, and we can see this by the way the successful crusaders set themselves up in their 'kingdom of Jerusalem'.

Why not just enter ''Crusades'' into Google and look through some of the 1000s of references that come up. Form your own opinions and put them down in an essay.
That is what you you should be doing rather than just copying down what we say on here. The link I gave has 900 entries on all aspects of the Crusades from Christian and Muslim points of view. Spend an hour or 2 actually doing the work you are supposed to be doing yourself. You will learn something in the process which you are not going to do by just copying what we say.
