The Hotspur & The Big Chopper
0 Answers
I'm not sure if anyone can help me. I'm trying to find details of a strip serial that was run in The Hotspur comic in the early 1970's. I think it was called the The Big Chopper (but I may be wrong) & told the adventures of a WW2 RAF bomber crew who were assigned to fly a huge prototype egg-shapped helicopter (hence "The Big Chopper"). This aircraft bristled with guns, and was equipped with a giant claw which could pick up a tank; essentially the plotline was a kind of World War 2 "Airwolf".
My reasons for asking is because I'm trying to tack down illustrations from the strip so that I can make a scale model of the eponymous helicopter for my collection of fictional & fantasy aircraft & vehicles, and I would appreciate any pointers in the right direction.
