4a. No.

lol! i laughed a lot at the answer to adam and eve hahaha
Well, a 'day' is the time taken by the earth to rotate once relative to the sun. However, the sun was not (supposedly) created until the fourth day, according to Genesis. Accordingly, the previous 'days' could have been 3 billion years each for all we know.
3 Its likely because of DNA commonality
4 Its likely at some point that there was one male (or more)who was more homo sap than not and who bred with one (or more) female who was more homo sap than not. I have a feeling that all current human life can be traced back to a very few women through mitochondria...will go and have a google.
well I was kind of right except that Mitochondrial Eve wasn't around at the same time as Y chromosome Adam according to wikipedia

I think Naz has it covered ;o)
The day used to be a lot less than 24 hours the tidal action of the moon slows it down.

620 million years ago it was a little over 21 hours

We can tell this from tidal deposits - so called rhytemites

Jake, that's fascinating. I never knew that the earth & moon could be considered a double planet system rather than a planet and satellite one. 2.1 billion years until the suns radiation burns off the oceans eh? Best get a move on with the escape plans. Also fascinating that as the suns mass decreases we are slowly ( very very slowly) drifting further away from it.
So thankyou to the OP.
1 & 2 Watch 'Inherit the Wind', preferrably the Spencer Tracy version.
Technically speaking they're not really a double planet because the centre of rotation of the two is within the body of one of them (ie the Earth).

But that's a rather technical astronomer argument a bit like the sort of argument that stopped Pluto being a planet
God created day and night before creating the sun and moon, which is tricky to explain. But it seems reasonable to assume that the writers/editors of Genesis were explaining the lengths of day and night as they knew them - 24 hours in total.
how could there be day and night with no sun? it would be dark all the time
1 They were as long as God wanted them to be.
2 About 6000 years old, according to Bishop James Ussher.
3 No. God created Adam, Eve, and then the animals.
4 Yes. They're in the bible. They must be real
alexanderd, I don't know how they actually manage things in Scandinavia (and it's quite possible the Israelites of a few millennia ago didn't either), but I suspect the ones in the far north still think of 'day' and night' even when it's dark/light for most of the 24 hours around midsummer and midwinter.
Answer to Q2 how old is life - well if the chances are that life existed on mars (all be it rather yellow and blobby) are good and that out there there might have been life any unknow millions of years ago... that kinda messes up the whole Genesis thing, and most of the western religions (?)
It depends on whether you believe in fairy tales or not.
days 24 hours one assumes
the earth is billions of years but noone knows exactly
men and apes are relates as fossils have proven.
adam and eve may or may not have existed theres no conclusive evidence to support the theory but neither is there any to catagorically refute it .
