Why do I lately get little success using the 'maroon box'?

When I first was put onto it as a search tool (by a poster's reply to another), I used the maroon Search box all the time, as it saved asking questions already answered elsewhere. Now, though, I type a clue as exactly worded, and the search yields nothing. Then I trawl through the pages as I used to, and up it pops, buried deep among the requests of people who read their papers far earlier than do I!
Why doesn't the Search box work properly?

If you have specific newspaper, type that into the search box (maroon) and it should bring up all questions relating to that paper

I think its case and phrase sensitive. Try using fewer words.
