I live in a small apartment building and my neighbour got broken into yesterday. The lock we have at the moment isn't the greatest, and I am now very worried about my home security. Is there any kind of additional lock I can install ot my front door?

There are loads of them available Boogie. Ordinary sliding bolts, and "rack bolts" are cheap and simple to fit ..............(key operates a "shoot" that slides into the doorframe)

Also lockable surface bolts ..........

A 5-lever mortice bolt/latch at the least.
This is minimum standard for insurance reasons.
You can operate this from inside or outside.
If you want additional protection, fit 2x Yale/Chubb Mortice bolts (as above) that use a splined key (internal operation only)
A mortice lock, definitely. I have a mortice and a Yale on my front door, the mortice is much stronger than the other.
Ask your local crime prevention officer to pay a visit.

Home security is both the security hardware in place on the property as well as personal security practices. Security hardware includes doors, locks, window lock, safeguard locker and alarm systems, etc.
