Ever heard of 'Victoria Plumb'?

In my new property I am trying the source sanitary ware for 3 bathrooms, the builders/plumbers are fitting it as part of the build job. I have got a couple quotes from bathstore (most expensive so far) homebase (better value as I am getting all the bathroom tiles and ground floor floor tiles along with the bathrooms so the bigger purchase allows for a bigger discount for bulk buying).

But the reason I am posting is to ask if you have heard of 'Vicortia Plumb' ? http://www.victoriaplumb.com/

They are an online store for sanitary ware and therefore no showroom, the website looks very nice as do the products, and the products cost half the price of the high street quotes I have had. I have googled the company name and found 2 reviews websites one which says avoid the company they are bad and the other says they are good.

I keep changing my mind thinking' if its too good to be true it probably is' etc, but I am wondering if to just order earlier than needed to see what the quality is and if push comes to shove send the items back and bathstore deliver in 7 days same as Victoria Plumb, so just order again.


I think it cost about £40 to get a large order delivered with them and you have to pay again to return the items unless you can prove they are at fault but I don't think they are very willing the credit your return deliver I don't think it is enough to say 'oh i thought the quality was poor' it would have to be snapped in half on delivery or something.

Any advice greatly received.

Never heard of them, but there have been recent threads on here about trying to return this sort of thing (think it was a damaged bath) and buyer having all sorts of problems and paying a small fortune. to boot! Think I'd pay more for peace of mind with a known, reasonable supplier.

I know people who have used them, Whatters. Never heard anything negative yet.
This is one I use all the time. Excellent for quickly replacing items the couriers usually break :o(

Has anyone ever heard of a free standing shower and by that I mean it could go in the centre of the room and has water piped up through a floor to ceiling pipe and rail or water piped in from above. it would be a four sided box or a cylinder shaped enclosure/pod - I have seen some showering saunas like this but they are too expensive. I could get a showering bath and have a curtain but would much prefer a proper enclosure. I have a weird shaped loft room which will be a shower room and at the moment with all the sloping ceilings we are struggling to fit any standard shower enclosure in there and I wouldn't want a wet room there. I have thought of part studding/glass bricking a wall or two in the middle of the room on which to place a standard two panel shower enclosure but I just don't think the rooms big enough to get away with that.

Shower in the middle of the room ........ great idea. I've always wanted a blue Police Phone box for a Dr. Who shower cubicle .......... but, failing that, a couple of ideas for you..........
What about a standard 3-sided enclosure, then just buy an extra panel for the back (or have a panel made up at the glaziers.)

Or........... have all 3 sides cut by glazier (then toughened). Fit a standard shower door to the front. There are all kinds of connectors and jointers available for joining glass these days. Simple bit of DIY engineering to rig up waterproof corner connections.
Waste out through the floor.......... no problem
Water supply probably easier from the ceiling, directly over the cubicle, maybe with one of those big "watering can" spouts on it.
Shouldn't be much more money than a good, standard enclosure, with a bit of thought.

I've heard of Victoria Plumb. I've never used them (sadly, a new bathroom is in the very distant future for us), but I've heard of them. I remember the name as it is a play on Victoria plum.

Bought a shower surround from them.
The package arrived damaged and some of the scres were missing. Althought they did not quibble, it took over 2 weeks for the replacements to arrive.
would I use them again? Yes

Havent used them but have just bought on-line at Better Bathrooms. I have 4 bathrooms to do in a newly bought house and wanted to see the quality of the product. At first sight they seems as good as anything I've bought in the past - and I've done a few. They have some very good offers and I got what we wanted for about 1/3 price of B&Q!
