'Burping' central heating radiators

I thought you always vented air from central heating radiators with the heating and pump OFF but can someone confirm this ?

yes thats correct.with the pump on its possible to pull air in
I've always done mine with heating and pump on. That way means you can verify the waters flowing through the radiator and heating up correctly.
Haha ..... we've had an argument before on here, about this. I've worked with plumbers who do and those who don't. You can argue it both ways :o)
Modern layouts ensure the pump (it's not even really a pump .. it's a circulator) is pushing around the system, with the head of water connected at or upstream of the inlet.
Bleed them with the water circulating.
