This morning I decided was the perfect time to gloss my stairs, the vertical bit, not the bits you walk on, as logic told me less people to walk on it (Mini Boo at school, Mr Boo at work) less chance of it getting ruined before it had chance to dry.

Sadly, I forgot to factor it my idiotic dog.

When I'd finished, rather pleased with my effort I decided to have a bath, and the dog decided to sit on the stairs and wait for me to come out of the bathroom again, she obviously got bored of sitting to attention and slumped against the stairs.

So now, ive a stair that looks like it's wearing a coat and a plank of a dog with a massive white stripe along one side of her.

How do I get it off her?

LOL Boo

But being serious

You could try this..

You can loosen it off the hairs of the coat with a little vegetable or sunflower oil brushed through the coat with a fine comb, but basically you either get some patience or you cut it out of the coat because it will take time to groom out naturally.

Or,

Being oil based you could rub vegetable oil...

No idea how you'll get it off, but that did make me laugh, sorry.
Ooooh. Not sure if it wont shampoo out mabye need to cut her fur!

Silly doggy xx
One of my dogs wagged his tail on a newly painted door yesterday. I've left the paint on his tail. Looks quite funky. ;o)
try white spirit and turps mixed with washing up liquid, sounds like somehting our dog would do aswell!

I put her in the bath after I got out, and it made no bloody difference to the massive stripe on her back.

She's still sulking and I don't know why, it's me who's got to paint the bloody stair again!

Or,

Being oil based you could rub vegetable oil into it allowing it to stay on as long as possible then brush, repeat as necessary. The dog will love all the attention, and his coat gets conditioned into the bargain.

Sorry, looking at all the advice, this seems to be the only remedy, short of clipping and scissors, but ask your vet.
One of mine did the same thing some time ago, and it was only a few weeks before Crufts so no way could I cut it out. I used a mixture of vegetable oil, vaseline and peanut butter, not at the same time, but separately over a few days, and after washing it off used a harsh bristle brush. It will come out if you have patience as it dries hard and flakes off. Dont use harsh solvents as it may aggravate her skin.
painted the hallway today, kept Callie out, the she escaped!............she now has white stripey ears and tail!..........bath in the morning for her!.........lol......hate the thought of doing the glossing!........
BOO you did make me laugh.!! Sounds like my silly dog its the sort of thing he would do. xxx
Nibble painted our stairs - risers, treads, all of it - we have a natty pattern of cat feet elsewhere in the house now!
^ tisk, I thought that was me still logged in, not himself - otherwise Nibs could have told you about that himself!

I forgot to get "stuff" from poundshop, so she's still covered, lol.

now you mention it nibble, the cat has paint on her tail too.
BOO as you now have to do it again use the Dog instead of a brush or roller.

Sorry!!
