We bought some willow screening to hide the shed and compost bins. What's the best way of trimming the top level?
Had to take about a foot off it, with ratchet secateurs, but that was hard work and we now have a wavyish finish - not regular, so it just looks untidy. We've got about 8 metres to do. Thanks

hire some heavy duty hedge clippers tie a guideline just below where you want the height and go for it... you may want to consider cutting it back a bit more often so you are only cutting into softer sappy growth in future
Are we talking live trees here (which is what I first thought) or willow panels?

Thanks Rowanwitch, ours isn't a growing one. It's made up of stalks of willow, if you get my drift.
you could put the wavy bit at the bottom, where it won't be noticed.

venator - thanks, but it's in situ. Perhaps all the rain will have softened it and make it easier to cut. Will stretch string across and work from that.
