Draught whistling in under skirting board

I have a very tiny hallway which faces into all the weather. Giving it a good overhaul today, flooring up and everything. I noticed that the keen westerlies we're experiencing here today seem to get in virtually unimpeded between the floorboards and the skirting board.
Would it be safe to shove some builders foam up this, or will it prevent circulation and promote damp?
Brick and render house, very small crawl gap beneath boards, house already cavity-insulated.

probably better using sylicone sealant in brown.

I agree with The Duchess, Mosers. A bead of brown silicone. It sounds as though you have plenty of "ventilation".

You could fix quarter-round wooden beading, but make sure that you nail it to the floorboards, not to the skirting board.

I have since used the silicone and it works like a charm. Thanks for all your hints and advice!

You should have used decorators caulk, then you could have painted it. Paint don't stick to silicone.

The area will be well covered by the carpet when it goes back down, Carrust - but thanks for the heads-up re. any visible areas.
