Leaking shower
8 Answers
My shower is leaking and i believe its beacause their is a gap between the base and the wall tiles. I have removed all the existing silicone so I can reseal it buththeir is about a 75mil gab between the base and wall and you can see through to a small space. Just wondering how best to fill in this space? Do in eed to put something in it and the seal on top or do i just fill it with as much silicone as possible and then smooth over top?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Fill the gap first, up to the top of the tray. Keep a cup of cold water handy. Dip your finger in the water and run it along the silicone to push it in the gap and smooth it off. The water stop your finger from sticking to the sealant and dragging it along.
That's the bead that will plug the gap. Finish with a finer bead along the top of the first. That's the one that will show, and shed the water into the tray.
