No Heating Or Hot Water : (

Woke up freezing this morning and realised radiators are stone cold. Looked on the timer and the red light was on so checked boiler and the light is blue. Found booklet which says if boiler light is red then its on and if flashing blue then there is a fault but this isnt flashing. Boiler is definitely off. Making no sound. Have gone through the reset and nothing still. Have chcked fuseboard and power hasnt tripped either. Could be hours till enginerr arrives. Any bright ideas?? Im freezing!

Thermostat issues ? It may think it has heated the water enough. Maybe the hot water isn't getting pumped out. Dig out the electric heaters you have and wait for the engineer ? Could always turn on the oven / rings too.

Dont know why but dont have any electric heaters. Boiler is only 18months old as well. May have to drag duvet downstairs!

really silly suggestion, but it happened to me and I never knew it could.
What does your gas meter display? Mine said something about batteries needed replaced.

When my boiler had issues not so long ago it was a trip to Comet to get a couple of heaters. They're not around any more of course, but there must be some electrical shop nearby. Of course, by the time you have got some, the engineer would have arrived.

Maybe you need to get stuck in to so many chores you feel permanently warm :-)

Gas meter - seems normal on the display. Only had the boiler serviced a week ago!

A week after our boiler gets it's annual service, it starts playing up a week or so afterwards.

Smow....... if you've got someone coming, I would still tell him about it, and about it coming back on as well.
It may be nothing, but I'm just concerned that, if it did this once, it may well repeat it at some time.
