Bath Re. Enamelling

Rather than changing my well used bath. I am toying with the idea of having it re enamelled. Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any idea on the costs, how long does it last etc. Thanks in advance

Don't do it, sammo. I had a very good bath resurfaced, just because it was pink!
It cost the same as the cheapest GRP replacement, and lasted about a month.
The firm who did it denied responsibility on the grounds that "I must have used hot water in it".

Aqua, that's a sad reflection on that Company. I'm guessing they just came along and re-coated it in situ?

I've fitted big old cast iron baths that have been treated. In those cases, the Company took it to their premises to thoroughly clean, abrade, and re-enamel. The process was much as with a new product. It can cost several hundred pounds.
It was a while ago, but I think it might have been £500.

As usual, TB, you've put your finger on it. The bath in question was only treated because I didn't want it disturbed. If I'd had to take it out I'd have bought a new one.
So unless he has an affectionate attachment to his bath, that's what sammo should do!
