The other day I was telling the kids that this was a staple snack when I was young.
Bless my daughter - she has been out and about and found me a big tub of what we used to call "mucky dripping" (pork dripping with loads of black jelly bits)
I have just had some for breakfast, and very nice it was too!

Morning aelmpvw - that is just how I had it, on toast, yum.

BTW, no comments on the state of my arteries thank you!
Did you sprinkle salt on it, mrs_o?

Tilly - yes.

(and the first person to mention cholesterol or high blood pressure will get a slap) ;-)
Mucky Dripping.

Like a Dirty Martini ?

Well, similar principle.

lol @ jj
Well, the Dirty Martini is a very "in" drink at the moment.

So maybe bread and mucky dripping will soon be in vogue.
oooh, I could just eat some now but I don't have any. I'll have to stick to muesli.
As well as dripping, I used to eat brown sauce sandwiches. They were nice.
gross
Sal + onion crisp sandwiches were tasty. Smiths crisps were best.

We used to have crisp sarnies....and banana sarnies sprinkled with sugar
And for a special treat; Sugar Sandwiches.
Were the bananas were mashed on a plate first? I preferred that variation, gooey banana
Mucky dripping! Wonderful stuff. We used to have it on bread fresh from the oven so that it melted in. We ended up with all over our faces! :o}
I didn't like sugar sandwiches. I've never had a sweet tooth.
Don't forget chip sarnes. A bit of salt and broon. Ah, Memories!
I still eat chip sarnies, when I have chips (which isn't that often)
Condensed milk and sardine sarnies.............give it a go..
