You can either swear the Oath or Affirm.

It is something like "I swear to faithfully try the defendant and give a true verdict according to the evidence".

However, you do get to read it from a card.
As far as I remember, in Scotland the foreman takes the oath on behalf of the jury, and the jury just nod in agreement.

It's up to you - you either swear on a holy book of your choice, or give an atheist affirmation just reading from the card you are given.
