Can't Find Radiator Valve

Hi,
I'm having real trouble with my son's radiator so thought I seek help here. It's always warm ish at the bottom and cold at the top.

I've bled all radiators except this as I can't open the valve. The only part on it that looks like a valve is shown in the pics attached. All other rads are really easy with standard valves.

This was first rad in the circuit until we got a loft conversion and now I'm guessing the top one is. Either way, can anyone help me out of this sorry state of affairs so I can bleed the rad and return to my wife as the manly master of DIY in our household again?

if it is like my old rads it might be on the top of it at the back, quite flat and a fiddle to get at with the key

It might be one of those square looking RADS with a rear valve like DJHawkes suggested. This problem always occurs this time of year when everyone starts testing their central heating system ready for winter.

I'm a self taught plumber and have installed many radiators but I'm going to have to lay down my spanner, blow torch and soldier and admit defeat. I've never seen a RAD like it. Over to someone else..

Take the pic along to a proper Plumbers' Merchants (not an ordinary Builders' Merchants), such as Plumbcentre. Someone there will know.

Thanks The Builder and dizmouk2009. Thanks firstly becuase you guys being stumped by this makes me feel a little less silly for not understanding it. And secondly for the good advice on using that tool and taking the photo down to a plumber merchant.

My bathroom radiator is similar to the picture and the dot in the centre is a square metal plug sticking out and needs a key with a suitably sized square shaped socket. On mine. a standard radiator key fits.

Looks to me like someone has broken the top off the brass bleeding valve. If you can isolate the radiator you should be able to unscrew the large nut and replace it with a new one compete with a new brass bleeding nipple.
Sounds quite rude when I read it back ;-)
