What Type Of Adhesive?

I have a cheap "canvas"stretched over a frame,could anyone suggest a glue to stick photo paper onto the "canvas" that would stick well with no wrinkling of the paper? Thanks....

The preventing of wrinkles appearing is more dependent upon your applying the photo to the canvas than the type of glue used. Do it very slowly allowing only a small portion of the photo to come in contact with the glue at one time. Use a soft cloth to "iron" the portion that has been stuck, and then let more of the photo on to the canvas and repeat...You know what, it's really hard to explain in word, but I hope you get the picture (Pardon the pun)...:)

Also, when you place the frame on a flat surface, is the canvas also touching the flat surface? If not, you'll have to put some kind of support under the canvas so that it is resting upon something other than air.

I wouldn't use a water based adhesive as this might cause the paper to wrinkle. I'd go for spray adhesive that carpet fitters use.

Thank you all for your very useful tips,I assume a spray adhesive would be spirit based ,would this affect the printed inks? I did neglect to say that the photo paper would have some form of picture on it.

Spray adhesives are probably easiest to work with. Otherwise contact adhesive or "Cow Gum" (a rubber cement) if you want to apply it from a tin or tube. Personally, I'd avoid 'Mod Podge'. There are many who claim this is a PVA-based adhesive and thus has a water content, which might wrinkle the paper.
