I have an item which I want to sell on e-bay, and I don't know what to call it. The device is 18 inches long and is consists of 3 long strips of rosewood, screwed together at one end, but pivoting at the other so that there is a central strip in a sandwich which can be folded out to form a kind of large bevel gauge. When fully unfolded it is 35 inches long. It looks like it was used for marking up unusual angles on large-scale jobs. What would it be called? I can't find an image on the web.

An oversize bevel guage?

Thank you Douglas9401. Nice video. My gauge is nicer because the swinging arm is concealed fully in a gap between the two outer pieces and slots with the end bevelled. The Americans seem to have tool nomenclature completely covered.
You're very welcome turast. Hope the sale goes well.
