I put my wardrobe along an outside wall but now the colder weather is here the back of it feels slightly damp (could just be cold).I saw a post about this but cannot find it now.
I am thinking along the lines of putting something like roll polysterene (if you can still get it) or anything you ABS can suggest on the outside back of wardrobe.

Suggestions will be accepted very gratefully.
Thanks

Yes, that should improve things Kloofs. Not a huge insulation value, but it'll help.

Very little heat gets into a wardrobe, so the problem you have is with condensation. If I'm "building-in" wardrobes, I always leave the door(s) short at the top and the bottom. Say around 25-30mm. That helps provide some warm crossflow ventilation through.

Thanks for reply builder.. there is no condensation, but feels dampish to me but hubby says it is just very cold.So hit on the idea of insulating back of wardrobe...outside.
So you think this will help???
Have found another product as well
http://www.gowallpaper.co.uk/saarpor-graphite-insulating-lining-paper-single.html

Which do you think would be best
...and what to stick it with????
Oh yes .......... the graphite paper is the better product. :o)

Likewise Miss Craft ;o)

Sorry didn`t get back to you sooner, had to go shopping...many thanks for answers...so Builder ,you say the second link product will be best(graphite, would it be ok to just stick it in with tape,(brown parcel kind)other than literally glueing it on???
I'd use wall paper paste.
Paste the wall only .............. heavy duty paste.
Question Author
Builder,it is not going on the wall...onto outside back of wardrobe, that is why I want to stick with tape...although with wallpaper paste might be ok...prefer to use tape...do you think it will work?????
You could always try a few polystyrene ceiling tiles which may be a bit thicker. They don't seem to be used on ceilings these days due to a possible fire hazard so there should be a few knocking about at the back of the paint store.
Yes, I'm sure it'll hold if stuck to the back of the wardrobe with heavy duty paste.

Wak's idea is even better.

Also, you could use an 8'x4' (2400mmx1200mm) sheet of Celotex. Just glue it to the back...........

You can get it from any Builders' Merchants, thicknesses from 12mm up.
