Stinky Washing Machine...

I used a washing machine cleaner a few days ago (Ecozone washing machine and dishwasher cleaner), but since then, it stinks.
I can't really put my finger on it, it just smells really musty.

What's the best thing I can do to get rid of this, as I can't use it like this.

Soda crystals and a 90 degree wash, chuck in some white vinegar as well. Also leave the door and draw open a bit afterward, it'll give in some air.

Run the machine on the hottest setting with a whole bag of soda crystals tipped in. That is one of the best cleaner/ freshener I have found.

Do you liquid soap or powder? whenever I used the liquid I found it made my machine stink so I only use powder now.

Sorry, this is going to to sound really stupid, but where do I put the soda crystals?
I'm assuming, as you say a whole bag, you mean in the drum rather than the drawer?

Yeah, I use liquid. It's only since I used the cleaner though, although I suppose that could just be a coincidence.

I'll get some soda crystals this afternoon and will do as you've both suggested.

In the drum and put the vinegar (if using) in half way through the cycle.

have you checked the inside of the doors rubber seal sometimes muck accumulates there .

and also the filter could need a clean

Er... where's the filter?

I've just had a rummage in the rubber seal, and there were little bits of paper and gunk in there, and a quid!
I've also noticed there are some little black marks on the inside of the rubber, which looks to me like mould..? :-/

theres normally a little door on the front of machine at the bottom

My filter is in the bottom right hand corner of the machine. It's a little square flap, open that and then unscrew the thingy bit.

I haven't been able to locate the filter, it's definitely not on the front.
However, I have now noticed there appears to be a puddle towards the back, so I'm waiting for my Dad to come round and move it out for me (it's really heavy) so we can have a look. Maybe that's where the stink is coming from - stagnant water.
