Electric Integrated Oven

Hi I just bought a second hand electric oven to replace my broken one, the one I just bought has a three pin plug attached where my old existing oven is wired into the socket, is it safe to just plug the new oven into a standard socket.

What is the wattage rating of the oven?

Hi its a kenwood CKB 200 and inside it says 2365w max 230v 50Hz can't find any more information on it

The wiring regs advise to wire any cooking appliance above 2000w on a dedicated circuit.I cant see a problem with using a plug...your choice.

I see it is no worse than a three bar (3kW) electric fire, but it does break the advisory limit, it seems. I'd not be keen but you could do so.

OG...your point is very valid and this is put into question regularly.However the regs set this limit as a get out of jail card if things go wrong i.e.bad connections at the plug or socket.....as you know on a heavy, sustained load things can go bad.
